With every step you will help change the lives of people affected by dementia – now and in the future. Register yourself or a team, and start fundraising today!
Sign up and walk all over dementia today. Your £10 entry fee supports us to organise the day, but unfortunately it won’t beat dementia alone. This is why your fundraising is so important. An average Memory Walker raises over £160 each, so we suggest you set this as your fundraising target. But whatever your target, and whatever you raise, you will be changing the lives of those affected by dementia!
We’ll be here to support you every step of the way and you’ll receive a pack with everything needed for the event, including your Memory Walk t-shirt.
Thinking about taking part as a group? Invite your friends and family to join you by sharing the link and team code sent in your confirmation email. Team members can set individual fundraising targets, or you can fundraise together and work towards a team total.
Memory Walk will start and finish in the event site at Hove Lawns No. 1, which is located next to the King Alfred's Leisure Centre, on Hove Street. Please note, this area is on grass.
Here, you’ll get ready to walk alongside hundreds of others, raising funds to defeat dementia. Take a moment to reflect on who you are walking for by leaving a message on the Memory Tree, and see it blossom throughout the morning.
There are two Memory Walk routes – you choose which to walk on the day of the event. Please note all routes and distances are subject to change, and suitable footwear is recommended.
The shorter 3km walk is a gentle stroll along the coastline which is suitable for Memory Walkers of all ages. The longer 6km walk is a little more challenging, and will take you further along the coastline, taking in the sights of the iconic Brighton Pier. Both routes are suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs with assistance, note on the long route there is a steep slope at the turning point near the pier.
There is no dedicated event parking, please use city centre parking and public transport. Hove Lawns No. 1 is 1.6km walk from Hove train station. For drop-offs only, head to Hove Street. Please consider the most sustainable method of transport, or car share where possible.
Registration will close Wednesday 30th September 2020 and you will not be able to register at the event. So sign up now and get your team members to do so too!
