About us

Memory Walk is the Alzheimer's Society's flagship fundraising event.  Since 2002, Memory Walk has raised over £1,700,000 for people living with dementia.

Throughout September, thousands of people will take part in walks across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  We are hoping to raise £750,000 in Memory Walk 2011 from over 20,000 walkers.

Why take part in Memory Walk?

The money you raise through Memory Walk will be used to fund our local services so by taking part in your local event, you will be supporting people affected by dementia in your community.

  • There are currently 750,000 people living with dementia in the UK
  • This figure is likely to rise to 1 million by 2025
  • 1 in 3 people over 65 will die with dementia
  • Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them
