Description The longer walk will cover the perimeter of the Country park. Ferry meadows is very beautiful at this time of year, there are lakes , tree belts and woodlands. The shorter walks covers the perimeter of the Overton Lake.
How to get there: Car?
Ferry Meadows lies 3 miles west of Peterborough and just two miles east of the A1. On all major routes into the city, look for and follow the brown tourist attraction signs for NENE PARK or the country park symbol. Ferry Meadows is signed on Oundle Road (A605).
For Sat Nav or Web searches enter 'Ham Lane', the entrance road to Ferry Meadows.
Please note a charge of £4 per car per day applies on weekends and bank holidays from Saturday 2 March 2013 until the Sunday 27 October 2013 from 10am to 4pm.
For coaches and blue badge holders there are dedicated parking spaces and parking is free at all times.
Registration is open from 9.30am so charges can be avoided

There are bus stops within walking distance of Ferry Meadows on Oundle Road and at Ferry View
Train?
The Nene Valley Railway is one of the best known standard gauge steam preservation railways in the country and home to that very special engine, Thomas. The railway runs between Wansford and Peterborough through Nene Park with two stations in Nene Park at Ferry Meadows and Orton Mere.

Boat?
River cruisers can enter Ferry Meadows from the Nene into Overton Lake where there are free overnight (24 hour) moorings (sorry, no pumping out facilities available). For information on the River Nene and navigation please see the Environment Agency's website.
Bike?
Ferry Meadows is well connected to both the city and the wider Nene Park via a traffic-free cycle route. A section of this route forms part of National Cycle Route number 63.
